Fantasy Prospects Report
400+ drafted prospects · NHL Draft section · 20th Edition

Welcome fantasy managers to another edition of the Weekend Waiver Wire. It is time once again to take a look at what goaltenders may be available as a streaming option this weekend to help you take down your fantasy matchups. Let’s get to it!
I’m not overly excited about Korpisalo’s chances regardless of the team he faces this weekend. The Bruins backup netminders is 2-5 in his last seven starts with a brutal 3.71 goals against and .874 save percentage in addition to a -3.55GSAx. Combine those numbers with the fact that Boston has struggled to a 3-5-2 record in their last ten games and things begin to get a little dicey as it relates to a positive result. The best fantasy managers can hope for is if Korpisalo draws the start against a New York Rangers squad that has struggled themselves for most of the current campaign. My advice would be to seek out a more favorable option.
I fully expect to see Merzlikins draw the start against the Utah Mammoth with Jet Greaves starting the front end of the team’s back-to-back this weekend. That being said, I just do not like the Blue Jackets chances with Merzlikins in the crease. The Latvian native is 2-5-2 in his last eight starts with a bloated 4.50 goals against and .861 save percentage in addition to a -7.61GSAx. The Mammoth are 3-1 in their last four games since the calendar flipped to 2026 while scoring a total of 14 goals during that span (3.50 GF/GP). Meanwhile, Columbus ranks 27th defensively at 3.36 GA/GP which does not bode well for Merzlikins or fantasy managers alike. This is another case where a more favorable option is the preferred path.
I’d be surprised to see anyone other than Anton Forsberg manning the crease on Friday against the Winnipeg Jets. Forsberg is 3-4-1 in his last eight games with a 2.38 goals against and .911 save percentage in addition to a 4.14GSAx. Combine that with a Kings team that is ranked 4th overall defensively (2.67 GA/GP) as well as the Jets complete lack of secondary scoring and one can see the potential for a rather positive outcome. This could be a sneaky good play with the way the Winnipeg Jets have been playing of late (0-6-4 in their last ten). A viable option that fantasy managers should consider.
One would assume that Annunen will draw the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday which is a rather decent landing spot in all honesty. Nashville has righted the ship over the last few weeks with the team earning a 6-4-0 record in their last ten games played with wins against some top competition in the Vegas Golden Knights, Utah Mammoth and Minnesota Wild. Annunen himself has been on a nice stretch with a 3-2 record in his last five games played accompanied by a respectable 2.60 goals against and .909 save percentage in addition to a 2.68GSAx. Chicago is no pushover (Blackhawks are currently on a 4 game win streak), however the team remains without their star forward Connor Bedard due to an injury suffered in mid-December. If pickings become slim on the waiver wire, it’s a calculated gamble I’m willing to take.
The Sharks have been an exciting team to watch this year with the likes of Celebrini, Will Smith and Yaroslav Askarov just to name a few. However, San Jose's young core will be in tough this weekend against a couple of heavy hitters. Regardless of opponent, I’m leaving Nedeljkovic on the waiver wire this weekend as the journeyman netminder has a 6-8-2 record with 3.07 goals against and sub .900 save percentage (.893) in addition to a -4.00GSAx. The Sharks will need to stay out of the penalty box as well with both Dallas and Vegas power plays being ranked in the top five. My advice would be to seek out a more favorable option if possible.
At first glance you would think these are two winnable games for Vegas, however, over their last ten games the Golden Knights have stumbled to a 2-5-3 record. Free agent signing Carter Hart has had his struggles recently having gone 2-3-1 in his last six starts with a 3.83 goals against and .827 save percentage in addition to a -8.34GSAx. Akira Schmid has not fared much better with an 0-2-1 record accompanied by a 4.00 goals against and a .813 save percentage in addition to a -3.96GSAx in his last three games. The Vegas blueline has been decimated by injury this year which doesn't help matters any, however, if the forward group can anywhere near their capabilities it could go a long way in providing their netminders with a little support. Either goaltender is a bit risky but with the offensive attack the Knights can throw at you, I’m willing to take the gamble.
Quite simply, I do not have confidence in Soderblom at this point regardless of whom he may face in the team's upcoming back-to-back. The Blackhawks backup netminder is a sizable gamble in just about any situation with the 26-year old sporting a 5-7-1 record with a 3.87 goals against and .872 save percentage. There is an outside chance the club may get a boost with the potential return of star forward Connor Bedard over the weekend but until Soderblom can string together some solid performances he’s a pass for me.
I like this spot for both Pittsburgh netminders this weekend with both the Calgary Flames (0-3 in their last 3GP) and the Boston Bruins (3-5-2 in their last 10GP) ripe for the picking (in my opinion). Why do you ask? Well, both Calgary (4th) and Boston (1st) are amongst the most penalized teams in the league while the Pittsburgh Penguins rank 2nd overall in power play efficiency at 29.7%. Stuart Skinner seems to be a bit more comfortable over his last two games going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals against and .950 save percentage. Meanwhile Arturs Silovs is 4-0 in his last four games played with a 3.25 goals against and .871 save percentage. If your league is weighted towards peripherals stats proceed with a bit more caution, however, if it’s all about wins either goaltenders is a solid add in my book.
The way that Joel Hofer has played over the past few weeks combined with Jordan Binnington’s struggles has opened the door to more playing time and the young Hofer is running with the opportunity. Hofer has fashioned a record of 5-2 in his last seven games with a tidy 2.29 goals against and .918 save percentage in addition to a 2.54GSAx. Unfortunately, the great equalizer here is a porous Blues defense that is ranked amongst the league’s worst at 3.43 GA/GP (29th overall) in conjunction with an offense that is ranked dead last at 2.50 GF/GP. Sprinkle in the fact that both Utah and Vegas are two offensively gifted clubs each on a modest two game win streak and fantasy managers may want to fade the Blues goaltending this weekend.
There you have it folks, some streaming options to consider for your fantasy squad heading into the weekend.
